The Economist Magazine Reviews

Write The Economist Review
SSSSS   Most informative, authoratative news , November 21, 2008
Reviewer: Inkrah
The Economist offers its readers the most informative and authoritative news on the state of the world's politics, current affairs, and economic ups and downs. I have been a loyal reader of this publication for over fifteen years. I have become so accustomed to the scholarly quality of The Economist that I simply cannot bear to give any other news medium the time of day. Every pertinent and news-worthy issue is featured and presented with an unchallengeable level of analysis and examination. It is not a coincidence that The Economist is widely regarded this way. If I could rate this magazine with more than five stars, I would!

If you want to be an informed and well-rounded citizen of the world, there is no better magazine to subscribe to than this knowledgable gem. The Economist looks at global news and issues with a critical eye that is unrivaled in today's media. The articles are carefully thought out, researched, and presented in a way that is genuinely unbiased-- a quality so rare in today's media. But if you're looking for an easy read to give you a quick fix of the world's issues, the Economist is not for you. It requires thinking, reflection and the articles do take time to read and get through. But the value of the knowledge and insight gained through reading them is well worth the effort. I applaud the Economist for resisting to conform to the poor standards of other news media these days, and maintaining such journalistic integrity. It really shines through in all of the stories and articles.

I have been a subscriber to the Economist for over 20 years. It is thought provoking, agrumentative, wedded to a free trade agenda- one that even if you do not agree with certainly challenges your own opinions. Each week I look forward to receiving my copy. If you want large colour photgraphs, detailed explainatory charts (such as those in Time or Newsweek) then do not buy the Economist. If you want first class writing, exceptionally punchy articles then read the Economist. I am a great fan, and have been for over 20 years. G

  SSSSS   Worth It , April 12, 2007

The Economist is expensive for a reason - it contains the best weekly news and commentary in print! People pay the price because it is worth every penny! I am a student without much money to throw around on magazines but I can say without reservation that I never regret my subscription to the Economist. It is the most intelligent, rational, non-partisan magazine I've read and would recommend it anyone with an interest in business, economics, international relations, science, and the list goes on....
